In 1964, Mr. Bernard CHARDRON founded Chardron in Percy-en-Normandie. He built it into a family business, working alongside his wife, his son Lionel, and later his daughter-in-law Sophie. Located in the Manche region, a land of horses, CHARDRON quickly earned a reputation for excellence, developing unmatched expertise in horse trucks.
Since March 2023, the company has been run by Frédéric Charreaux with a spirit of excellence and modernity.
Each CHARDRON horse truck is built in France, in Percy, by a loyal team of passionate collaborators. Our purpose is to transport your horses in the best possible conditions of well-being, comfort, and safety. The objective: respecting the rules of craftsmanship and upholding the pride of artisanal work that must be flawless—for your horses as much as for you.
A CHARDRON horse truck is built with high-quality materials, carefully studied and selected together with our clients, ensuring that our production remains noble, elegant, and worthy of being an authentic CHARDRON.
Our expertise has been developed and perfected over the years through the hands of our skilled craftsmen, some of whom have been with us for more than 30 years.
We design and manufacture trucks, trailers, and light vehicles for horse transport.
Heavy-duty vehicles, with or without living quarters, designed for both amateurs and professionals, across all disciplines.
Special vehicles, event vehicles, and high-end motorhomes for travel enthusiasts, including off-road use.
Owning “a CHARDRON truck” is a choice, a statement. It is a long-term investment, as a used CHARDRON truck retains a high resale value. CHARDRON’s quality is recognized both in France and abroad.
Combining strength, elegance, and reliability, your CHARDRON truck will become the indispensable partner for all your passions.
In 2025, CHARDRON was placed under judicial reorganization. This was followed by the acquisition of our brand by Théault, also a designer and manufacturer of horse trucks based in Normandy.
This acquisition, agreed upon with our employees, aims to ensure the long-term future of CHARDRON, which remains a symbol of Norman excellence in coachbuilding and equestrian vehicles.
The goals of this takeover are clear:
▪️ to preserve our artisanal know-how of excellence;
▪️ to relaunch our activity within a stable and sustainable framework;
▪️ to continue serving the equine sector with dedication and passion.
While awaiting the rebirth of CHARDRON through new models, after-sales service for our vehicles will be provided by the Théault teams, alongside some of our former colleagues, at the workshops in Ponts (50300).
